Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

The brown & blue connectors are for the side airbags and seatbelt pretensioners, not sure about the red one though

Is it possible that something is for heating the seats.
or if there is anything extra that is only to connect or install.

quick question since pugi406 has put up that picture and thanks because my camera doesnt seem to get it as clear as that. But anyhow when i did the permanent wiring of them faulty connectores under the seat, i did these, and if i recall correctly the design of the connector seemed to connect the two wires that went into each connector, and as such i just soldered the two wires together on the input side, and soldered them to the wire on the other side. Could that be good, ive got the airbag fault codes back and short circuit is mentioned somewhere, but even before i had done it the airbag light was on?

I can't see how that would be right

I don't know that that red connector is for but I'm sure it's not a seat heater

Looks like it's going to the socket with the ground wire... so I'd guess it's grounding the frame for the airbags?
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

mine has heated, electrically adjusted memory seats, with pretentioner, but no side airbag, and does not have the red plug.

OOoh, must be something missing on yours then
(probably extra ground for the old bag as mjb suggests)
