CD player not recognised after multifunction display swap

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

CD player not recognised after multifunction display swap

Post by vinpug »

Hi all,
I recently changed my multifunction display screen on my 406 SE 110HDI Estate after i managed to crack original one. All was well, no lines etc, but my cd player is not recognised!. Does anyone have any ideas what to try?

I guess this is a D9 :? My first thought is perhaps we're wrong about the radio being coded to the BSI, perhaps it's actually the MFD? :?: :?: That's the only reason I can think of for the car not recognising the radio. Perhaps you could try your old one again (I realise that's a pain, sorry) or take the display from your old unit and fit it to your new one (I don't even know if this is possible, sorry    )

the lcd display is mounted with some special electrical adhesive, easy to take off but almost impossible to get a connection afterwards, you would just need to change the full display the only interchangeable part is the pcb panel that holds the backlight bulbs
