Which fuse is responsible for the fuel pump?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Which fuse is responsible for the fuel pump?

Post by dgriff »

Hi
I have a 406 1998 and it was a really cold night last night. She turns over but she wont start. I think it might be the fuel pump and I want to check the fuse. Can anyone tell me which fuse is responsible for the fuel pump? Thanks.

Hi there assume its petrol? had similar problem mines a 1996 and number 10 in engine compartment fuse box, yours may be mark two so may be differant, go to electrical on this site and the info may be there! If this doesn't work, try feeding fuel pump direct from battary, if it whirs, fuel pump ok and it is an electrical fault. try crank sensor (TDC sensor) under the thermostat housing £23 noted from Pug dealer. Also, runs through a multi function relay placed in engine compartment next to ECU £41 quid to replace from Pug dealer. Whenever you change owt remember to disconnect eart on battery first and re-connect live first then before starting leave ignition on stage 2 for 30 secs or so before strting to allow ECU to reset.

good luck Steve
