Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

electric mirrors

Post by mackie1234 »

My 406 has really irratating mirrors when you select each side they appear to go the wrong way for example if you try to move the drivers side mirror the passengers side moves, they go the completely wrong way and then wont return. does anyone have any what it is and how to fix it? Cheers John

sounds to me as if the switch is wired up wrongly ??

if both mirrors are working but in the wrong way could be a switch fault

odd, well the only thing i can think of is that the electric window switch was once removed, and the wires put round the wrong way.

In each year, there are two plates, showing which half of the year the car was registered. An 03 plate would be the first half of 2003, and a 53 plate would be the second half. This worked just like that up until 2010.

In 2010, you had the first half's cars being 10 plate, and the second half's cars being 60 plate.

Cars registered in the first half of this year will be 11 plate and then 61 plate for the last half.

my passenger side one doesnt work on the switch but drivers side is fine , as soon as able going to check wires where they go from body to door to check for breaks ( its a common 306 problem as the wires appear to be too short and so tend to snap , usual fix is to add an extra piece of wire into the loom , seems to work for those who have done it .

you know what way a car is going, if its coming towards you or going away, and for cars like the porsche boxter you get a good refrence point for the front and back.
Another problem with ROI plates is they all follow this system so there is no humouros custom number plates, or anything remotley personal about the cars.
