for some reason my thermometer in my car that tells me the outside temperature says it is 22oc....
any ideas why this could be?

jamie common fault mate. inside the passangers wing mirror lays the sensor for that, its gona faulty.

if you look under the mirror you will see it sticking out about 6mm..

dealers price is £21 for the sensor. you will need to solder the new one onto the old wire cos changing the whole thing is just a big NO NO
