Peugeot Planet - How good is it? Really?
Been considering getting this bit of kit for a while, but am reluctant to spend that kind of dosh without knowing if its going to do the job I need it for.
All I need to do is turn the cruise control option on (if its even there, the stalk is, but does nothing).
That's the main thing, but I also want to have a nose around the system, see what other options there are (like my girlfs fiat turns the rear wiper on when reversing, would love to get mine doing that!)
Alternatively, does anyone in Norfolk have one of these bits of kit, so I could maybe see it in action, in exchange for some beer tokens or something.
Cheers
Tim

Well I've got one & yes, I've now got the auto rear wiper gizmo too.
TBH there aren't many other freebie 'toys' to be had.
I'm not certain, but think it unlikely your 1999 ecu would support cruise - think it didn't appear on HDi's until a bit later, but I could be wrong. Others have done a similar upgrade successfully, but after fitting a more recent ecu/bsi IIRC.
You're welcome to have a look at mine, it it's not too much of a trek, (I'm at NN17).
Bought mine to solve problems with my 2.2's FAP system and also as an insurance policy against being bled white by Pug dealers, reckon it doesn't owe me anything now.

ive used it to read the fault codes on the breaker car, and a friends saxo which was quite useful. I was able to test all the things in my car, and reprogram it so the sat nav screen would work with the steering wheel controls.
Best of all it will vin decode a radio, £30 saved.

Hi Everyone
I think i'm going to seriously have to consider getting one of these. The eml comes on now and again for no reason then goes off after a couple of hours no loss of power. Only seems to do it when i go up a really steep hill where i live. I was just thinking this could save me some money in the long run and try to figure it out for myself rather than having to rely on the garage all the time, most of the time they can't do anything for a week anyway.
I've only got one key for the car so was also thinking it might be possible to get another one cut and use it to programme it.

ive never used it to reprogram a key i never looked but the function never made itself known.
i can say though that with a 1hr session in a diagnostics machine at peugeot costing £70 even if it is just 5 mins you only need to use this twice before it pays for itself.

I can't find my spare key, (somewhere safe).marco2002 wrote:I've only got one key for the car so was also thinking it might be possible to get another one cut and use it to programme it.

Couldn't re-synch my key after taking the car battery off, but managed to get the car to re-'learn' & work OK with PP2000.
Note that to do this you also need the 4-digit code off the security card that comes with the car.
Also, not sure which models this applies to, but in some cases, for two keys to work they have to be PRI(mary) & SEC(ondary) keys, which I think are different......
