Quick question with a simple answer (probably a no)
Is there any quick way of setting the headlights for driving on the right? I'm off to France this week and would like to avoid using stick on beam deflectors

Re: Light adjustment for driving abroad
Hi there i covered well over 20k miles over on the continent with my RHD 406 without sticking those silly beam deflectors on,
all i did was lower them on the headlight adjuster to prevent dazzling the oncoming vehicles,
i didnt receive a single flash of complaint or tug by the law in well over 6 months, simply by using common sense and lowering them, on long dark roads where you need the extra beam length if its clear you can always adjust back up or just use main beam till something else is coming the other way.
I have admitted defeat now and bought a LHD car as im living here full time now but honestly just lower them down to 2 or 3 and all will be well.

You have to have the beam benders on, even in daylight. The French Police are s**t hot on this, especially around the Pas De Calais, and port areas, if you are caught without them, it is an on the spot fine. I go over to Belgium, via France, every month, and have done for the last 5 years, and always have them on before I leave the boat, every now and again, they have a blitz on English cars. Another thing, you have to have a yellow reflective vest for every person in the car, but it must be in the cabin with you, not in the boot, another little thing the French Police dreamt up!! And I have been pulled over by them for this twice in the last 6 months.

I guess i have been very lucky then with 7 trips through france belgium the netherlands and germany and 6 months daily driving in poland to never be stopped let alone fined in the 7 months or so i ran a rhd drive car over here.
I agree on the vest thing though, also check on the aa website or similar i cant remember if you need spare bulbs, a fire extinguisher, red triangle and so on for france, i used to carry them all as somewhere along my route the were mandatory in one country or another
Dont forget both parts of your driving license too along with all the documents for your car, V5, mot cert, ins certs etc etc.
