Bsi Interface woes!!

A quick question for you all, I have found someone who is willing to re solder the dried out joints on My BSi. (Hopefully then my climate control will work!)
My question is if I remove the BSi from the car, have it soldered, and then put it back, will i have to "reset" it?? Also how do u do this?? I have read on here somewhere that you can? I'm really hoping u lot say i can take it off and put it back with no problems

Thanks!! I thought this was the case, hopefully that should make the ac work, or it a new pump, and i dont fancy that...

i would have changed the pump 1st before messing with the BSi

if the air con packs up it usually relates to the pump rather than the BSi. in most cases that is.

Gary has a point - after all the relay in the BSi only switches the compressor clutch. Why not, (carefully), bypass this temporarily for test purposes? This allows you to prove everything else works, (or not).

Do not leave it bypassed for more than minute or so, as you will have no protection against high or low refrigerant pressure.

If you take the bsi out do it after having theme battery out the car shouldn't notice

sorry but youve not added much details,
is you climate control panel lit up ?
whats not working ?
what problems do you have other than none op /aircon?

yes I have the whole climate control panel working. any function apart from air con and recirc work fine ( I have got round the recirc by jamming a stick under the pollen filter!) the air and the blower always works and goes where i ask it to go. Its just the aircon, I know the system is fully charged on coolant, but the compressor never seems to kick in. Its quite a pain in the hot weather.

What is Leading you to think its a Bsi related fault,?
The Air con as Sensors /Relays If one of them was Down it wouidnt Let the Aircon Trigger,
Personaly Iwouidnt Touch the Bsi its Tricky ,
Maybe finding Some one who as Acode reader or pp2000 or such like Mightbe the best option,
Ipresume There wouid be Fault codes Stored that wouid give you the Precise details of the Fault,

Q: how do you know the system is full of refrigerant as a Air con company confirmed that ?
or Have you tried one of Them Halfords Top up cans that Has a Guage ?

If so them Cans are awaste of space there only any good for Topping up a Fully functioning air con system that is "Low"
There Is 2 pipes for the Air con one is Low-preasure and one is high,
You can get them cans to Blast Refrigerant in and it will Read full but it isnt full if the pumps not been Running to draw it in,
