Intermittent coolant warning

If your radiator symbol flashes occasionally and you have plenty of coolant, take out the sensor from the bottle and clean the dirty prongs!
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
Hmmmm, straight 6 goodness!

hi are you sure its the rad symbol and not the water in diesel sensor in the filter housing
as i havent heard of the coolant level sensors giving any problems

Mie doesn't have it acording to servicebox

Yep, mine doesn't too ..anyway there is some stuff that servicebox is not 100% accurate ...

It was definately the radiator symbol, after cleaning the prongs it hasn't done it since.
There is no water in diesel sensor on mine, but there might be a wire for it.

Does anyone here have one with this sensor ? Do you know what it is? have pictures ? Could this be retrofit ?
