406 electrochrome interior mirror wiring help!

Hello 406oc,

I have recently purchased a Peugeot 406 interior autodim mirror which has 3 wires, white, black and grey but before i install it and either destroy the mirror or the car would someone please advise me on which of the coloured wire are the live and earth. I am guessing that the remaining wire operates from the BSI after reverse is selected so technically i only need the live and earth.

I have looked at Sedre but as the wires arent numbered on the mirror side of the wiring and the plug has no markings to indicate pins 1, 2 or 3.

Thank you in advance to someone who may kindly help me to distingush the correct wires.

The car side you can work out with a multimeter
The mirror side you can suss with a 9v battery

thank you for your reply MJB, however my car doesnt have the internal wiring to power the mirror, hence my question.

I have determined that pin 2 is live, but need to determine the earth wire as i only need 2 out the 3 to work, i am a "blackbelt with a soldering iron!" and initially need to clarify the correct wiring/colours on the mirror only and then work out which wires to connect to.

Any idea's anyone
