Re: new key/fob
There are a few people selling flip key kits which can be used to change a normal key into a flip key by swapping the board into the new housing & getting the blade cut. The bad news is that these are only available (at the moment) for the later type keys (post 2001) with the fat plastic fob bit & not for the older ones like mine.squirrell25 wrote:i need to replace the caseing on 1 of my key fobs as the rubber buttons have fell out

This one is currently the cheapest:

But bear in mind where it is coming from. Just put PEUGEOT 406 FLIP KEY in the search bar on Ebay & there'll be a few show up & I think there may even be a couple of UK sellers. It may turn out to be a cheap & nasty bit of crap, or it may turn out to be a perfect bargain. I've not seen one firsthand so couldn't really comment on quality, but if you go for it, perhaps you could let us all know what they are like.

Re: new key/fob
Hi
I have changed mine to a flip key fob and I am pleased with it but if you are considering it.....

If you think the logo looks a bit crummy it is because I have not removed the protective film

I must add this word of warning, this is from the locksmith. - I used Keyfax in Dukinfield - Some locksmiths will not cut keys that you have brought in yourself ie sourced from ebay etc. This is because the metals used on some of these blanks can damage the key cutting machine as they are too hard. At £150 for a replacement cutting head you can understand their stand on this. They obviously are also missing out on the sale of the key blank itself.
