Remote locking stopped working

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Remote locking stopped working

Post by L12PUG »

Well.....here I go again with another problem......

Yesterday the remote locking stopped working on our 406 mk2. Initially I thought it could be down to the keyfob having no buttons for a while.....

I got a new key this morning and swapped the internals so I had one with the buttons and went to try and re sync the key. I searched and found that I needed to press and hold the large button for 20s then press the small one, the light stayed on. Then went into the car and pressed large button one, switched on ignition for 10 s then off. Bloody remote locking still don't work.

All help & advice greatly received as both manual locks just spin so I can't lock the bloody car :(

Anyone know what might be wrong? I put it on PP2000 and it said there was a learning problem!!

Sounds like you need to use PP2000 to get it to re-'learn' the key codes.

It's in configuration somewhere, & you need the 4-character PIN code off the card you should have got with the car...
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Sign up to Digital Kaos

search for 'vin to pin for peugeot and citroen'

post your VIN & someone will reply with your PIN, usually within 24 hours

(or you can give Peugeot £25 instead).
