I know but the switches do play up, it was just an idea, I hit that thing like an idiot and it worked for 3 years after that

Have they ever worked? Did you look at the wiring in the back doors yet?

Btw before I head off and look at wiring diagrams it's another in between car - is it com2000?

Right, I'm looking at the diagram for the pre-com2000 car and finding a relay that's turned on & off by the switch on the panel (it's a fecking pain because I can only see a bit of the screen at a time through the magnifier :frown: ) it also seems to have it's own fuse (27). Unfortunately the earlier diagrams don't tell you were anything is.Looking at the full mux diagrams... Ah, they have it too . it's one of the ones on the main passenger fuse box. It's saying the miniature relays on the top l/h end - however I suspect this is probably bollocks but I am physically unable to look under the dash on mine just now. Excellent, it's shown as coming off fuse XX

This might tie in with Welly doing rude things with his switch - it's not the switch he was working, it was the relay, so even if you try a good switch it's not going to do anything. You might be able to find the relay if you power the car up & gently turn the switch on & off whilst listening for it ticking. It should be somewhere around there...
