Main Headlights not Working..?

Hi,

Need some help, 406 hdi, Main headlights not working,
What i have done so far
checked all the fuses, engine compartment and under steering wheel
changed headlight bulbs,
Checked side lights.. working OK
checked high beam.. working OK
Checked lower fogs...working OK

i have been told, it may be a relay, can any one give me advice, where can i find this relay or any other tests i can do to trace the fault,,

Hi there saj. I'll tell you what, the way things seem to be going these days when I ask you what year your car is you're going to say either 1999 or 2001 so I'm going to cut to the chase and I'm afraid for a start we're going to need to know your car's date of birth. The 2.0 HDi was fitted to the 406 from 1999 to 2004 and there was some pretty major changes in that time.

This is the data sticker from driver's door pillar on my car. On the lower grey panel is the number 0989189 - the 09891 is the code for the day my car was made - Tue 9 Dec 2003 (the 89 bit is just the plant code, in my case Sochaux, France).

You may have seen this number referred to as an RPO or DAM. If you can't find it it can easily be worked out from your chassis number but I know some people have issues with posting them on public forums so you'll probably want to PM it to me.

Having said this, if the RPO is higher than 09001 (Mon 2 Jul 2001) then it does have a relay, which is unfortunately part of the multiplex fuse panel under the bonnet.

i have taken a picture of the label, it was a bit difficult to get a clear picture due to where it was, in between the door hinge area, anyway here it is,
