Leccy windows

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Leccy windows

Post by 4oh6 »

Hi there,
I'm having a couple of problems with my electric windows.

Firstly, the drivers rear windows switch works the opposite way round to the rest of the switches. So where as the others switches are pushed down to open the window, the drivers passenger window switch has to be pulled up to open. It's the same on both the drivers door and rear door switch. Also, the window lock button works the opposite way round and doesn't work on the pass front window at all.

Hope that all makes sense and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Has someone been playing and wired the motor up backwards?

This would be the button that disables the rear window switches to stop kids opening them and escaping? You press it down, it rises up & that's your rear window switches disabled. It doesn't work on the front passenger switch - not on any car I've had it on anyway.

Had door card off today, more butchered wires  The motor was indeed wired the wrong way round. All sorted now.

Thanks for the suggestion
