Got PP2000 - Not got clue how to use it!!!!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

When I look in PP2000 it says that cruise is absent so I assume that it would be the same as yours, I may have a look for the switch & stalk and see if I can get it working.....

My PP2000 now works fine and I have used it with ease on my D9 406, my brothers 306, my mates 2007 307 and my Grandads Xantia (Lexia) so after my initial bone head ramblings at choosing the D8 not the D9 (406R) I have great use out of it and well worth the money also!

If only I could get something similar for my Jag......
I do remember my old ecu didnt have cruise listed at all..so it sounds like your one step ahead there :) ,i guess you dont need ecu swaps.
if i remember right the cruise stalk plug-in is white or grey, down near the pedals next to steering columb shaft.
if your near newbury berks, i have a spare stalk and switch you can try.

I guess that this should be cleared and make it going to the knowledge database:

1- Does your D9 is a sunroof version ? yes ? then carry on .

2- Does it have the cd changer at the boot ?

( well this ones are almost the confirmation of having cruise pre installed, i'll explain shortly, the GTX version of D9 have both, and basically peugeot use the same model for other D9 which have sunroof, that's why my friend have a D9 which is only newer then mine 3 months and he's does not have anything of the list that i'm posting here, hence he will not be able to use cruise even if he enables it on the ecu because there is no wires for button no nothing.)

3- Does it have the plug for the ON/OFF cruise button ? yes ? Then carry on.

4- Does it have the red sensor on the brake pedal next to a white one ? yes ? then carry on.

5- Does it have the brown sensor on the clutch pedal ? yes ? then carry on.

6- Does it have the 5 wires white socket next to a brown one ( radio stalk ) this is located in the steering wheel column? yes ? Then carry on

7- After cheking all of this, it's time for you to search a garage that do programming on ecus like Bosh Auto Services, or a friend nearby with PP2000 or go to Peugeot.

8- This is enabled only in the ECU ( 99-01 -> pre-multiplexed) and on ECU and BSI ( 2001-2004 -> full multiplex)

9- How can i distinguish a pre and a full plexed ? simple look at the radio stalk or the wiper stalk, on pre multiplex the radio stalk is separated from the normal stalk, on full plexed the radio stalk is a larger one and is right next to the whole stalk, and the normal stalk is all curved and round, on pre plexed they are more flat.

I hope this helps a lot of people.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but hopefully someone can help me here. I've never used cruise control before, so it's definitely possible that I just don't know what I'm doing

I have a cruise control stalk to the left of the steering wheel (GTX model) with the following controls:
1. + button
2. - button
3. button at the top of the stalk.
4. On/off rolling switch on bottom of stalk.

Is there anything I'm missing, or is it just not working? I've tried getting up to speed and rolling the switch to "On", and tried pressing the button at the end of the stalk too. Car is an auto too if this comes into the equation.

What i do is turn the rolling switch to on and when you've got to the speed you want press the + button,if you press the end button that will switch it off and when you want to resume the speed you had press the the end button again, touching the brake pedal will knock the cruise off aswell,it will only work in 4th and 5th gear above 30mph i think, mine didn't work when i first had the car but i found the clutch pedal switch had fallen off, stand on your head in the drivers footwell and look up at the top of the clutch pedal and see if the switch is in it's holder.

Spot on - pressed the + button and CC engaged straight away. Strange at 1st, but will come in very handy for motorway! Cheers grasmere :)

You'll find that lets say you set it at 60mph the car will stick to that but cars in front will probably do 58,56,60 and so on as most people don't seem to keep at a constant speed as cruise does and you catch up,knock of the cruise, resume again, catch up again etc etc,it's great on an emptyish road but a bit of a pain in normal traffic on a motorway. If you hold the + or - buttons down the car will accelerate or slow down which really does seem weird as your using the buttons instead of the accelerator pedal and it also seems the car picks up better for some reason.

I noticed that alright, found myself switching lanes to pass people a lot. As you said, I'd imagine it'd be a lot more useful on an emptier motorway which is fine as I'd drive from Dublin to Galway and back often enough. Good to know it's working though!
