306 - bad starting, remote locking and brake lights

My sister is getting rid of her T plate 1.4 306 but it has a couple of issues to sort out.

It will start when the battery has been charged but struggles to turn over later on, she tells me the battery has been checked and is ok so I'm planning to try and source an alternator from a scrap car.

Remote locking died a while ago, I'm hoping a new battery and a resynch will fix that, is the procedure the same as the 406?

Also all 3 brake lights have stopped working, not had a fiddle yet, other than fuses what should I be looking for?

The car is pretty tidy and only has 85,000 on the clock, I reckon she could get £500 to £600 with the issues sorted looking at the offerings on auto trader.

Any help will be much appreciated as usual.

take the negative lead off battery whilst its running see if it stalls,

The 1.4 306s are agood seller they go for anything upto a grand for ahalf tidy one,

Thanks gents,

just popped out at lunch to see my mate the mechanic and he's got 2 switches in his garage he's rescued from scrappers

Seeing my sister on saturday so I'll try pulling the battery lead then.
