remote control central locking

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

remote control central locking

Post by maarten »

Hello All,
Since a while my central locking system is not responding to the commands of remote control in the key.
When i lock or unlock the doors by the key itselfs, all door respond to that command but not when i press one of the buttons on the key's housing.
Still, when i press a button on the key i can hear a "click" comming from out of the bsi but the doors do not respond. After a few sec. another click can be heard from the bsi.
Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
Anyone here with a component layout and electrical scheme of the bsi?
If have the impression that the remote control activates a relay which on his turn activates the relay(s) of the central locking.

BSI is from valeo (says so on the housing anyway)

Thx for your help.

Hello,

Thx for the respond.
I tried to resync but without succes.
Resseting the bsi, didnt try it yet but i guess leaving it without powersupply would reset it? will look it up.

But still, i can hear the bsi clicking so it is receiving the signal from the key and responding to it. My guess is that the key is accepted and so... but some failure in the wiring or on the motherboard?

best regards

Hello,

Another area you couid check is the Wiring to each door,

when you open door you will see the Rubber cover, (no dismantle needed)
just pull back the rubber cover and look for :broken or Chaffed wire /wires,

Perhaps you have a short this is why bsi clicks.

thats my guess anyway,

Regards lozz.

Wiring problem - possible
Motherboard problem . unlikely
Fuse?

fuse ok. when i remove the fuse, other doors don't respond when i lock/unlock one of the front doors by key.
But this the funny thing, when i lock or unlock by using the key the other door respond as they should. this means that at least a part of the bsi is working as the relays on the bsi are acting correctly using the key. you can hear them click as well.
Pressing the remote control only gives me a click coming out of the BSI as i mentioned before.
Thats why i'm thinking there is either a fault on the motherboard or failure of the relay activated by the remote control.

will check the wiring going back from the lock.
Is there some sort of master door?
I mean, does the bsi sent a command to each door or only to one door, the rest of the doors follow the action of the master door.
I think the locks of the doors all give a signal back to the BSI in what position they are.
But again, think we need a scheme to solve this problem. I'm an industrial electronic of grade, have the tools but you cant open the case of the body. unless you almost tear it apart. Scheme would be helpful or just knowing how the system is designed.

Thx all for your input!!!

ps
I'm from belgium, so if i wrote some mistakes, zorry

All the motors are on the same circuit which the diagrams show going to relays inside the BSI but the front door switches disappear into the electronics in the BSI.
