Here i am again, wondering about a few more items regarding them dodgy electrics.
Central locking apparently has a brain behind glovebox, what does this look like?
Dealing with the fitting of an aftermarket central locking remote here.
Preheating works with the aid of a air temperature sensor under the bonnet, where is it located? It is mentioned on haynes manual but no details.
Currently preheater works all the time or never depending on which wire i fiddle with (disconnect) on the water temperature sensor besides airbox. Both this sensor and relay have been tested with new ones and the mystery still prevails.
any help welcomed
cheers

Try the search box top right, it works quite well. And I think our Plod has a d8.5, so he might be of more use. Welcome in and well done for putting in your car details.

And the central locking will be through the bsi, which is behind the fuse box. Its a complicated thing that is easily broken so be carefull.

if your thinking of fitting an aftermarket locking kit,
id remove the drivers door card -get the old multimeter out and work out the trigger wires,
you can get a perm live off the elecy window motor, so theres not Much wiring up involved
some only need two or 3 wires connecting, some have loads,
ifitted one on a picasso that had loads of wires but that had alarm etc ijust connected the wires up for the remote locking
and left the rest,
