what a head ache

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Greetings :cheesy:

There's only 1 washer pump, it spins one way for the windscreen and the other for the tailgate, so perhaps the wires have been reversed :? I'm not sure if this could happen just through a fault on the car though - did it ever work properly or did it come like that?

steve, which way does it turn for the headlamp washers? :?

(Only kidding, I never knew that)!

Guess it wouldn't be impossible to trace / swap the relevant wires at either the motor or stalk connectors, if you can't easily sort it properly

It uses a second (more powerful I suspect) pump for the headlights.

I just thunked a thort - it could also be the pipes are the wrong way round.

I'm not deaf! Off with the capslock please!

I'm afraid PSA don't do colour codes on wires, they do tiny letters and numbers printed on the wires themselves. Oh, they both seem to be 5190 :frown:

Thing is, when you pull the stick towards you, the windscreen washers should fire, followed by a few wipes of the wipers. I suspect that, if you swap the wires on the switch and the wires are crossed elsewhere or the pipes are reversed, this won't happen unless you wash the tailgate window...

My first move would be to swap the pipes over on the motor on the washer bottle, I THINK STEVE WAS TRYING TO SAY THAT THOUGH.
