Central Locking is dead

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Central Locking is dead

Post by paulb2004uk »

Hi,

I've do a 51 plate hdi90 Rapier Estate. The remote hasn't worked for 6 years but central locking has always worked ok with the key until last week.

The car unlocked ok when I went to work, when I arrived the centrral locking didn't work from either front door.

When unlocking either front door the hazards flash as normal. When locking either door the hazards don't flash.

Anyone got any ideas where to start looking.

I can't see any fuses listed for the locking in either Haynes manual or the handbook.

According to this http://www.peugeotlogic.com/fuses/fuses406/fuses9.htm it's fuse A on the BSI but I'm not sure if the flashing hazards (? the car has dead locking or an alarm?) means that it's ok.

Semi-mux or full-mux? Does it have com2000?

Unfortunately the car is full Mus - Yes has COMM2000. Where is the BSI located - Near the interior fusebox ???

It's above the interior fuse box.

I'm still not sure about your flashing hazards but neither of my cars came with deadlocks or an alarm.

Off to look at some diagrams :( (at least the full-mux ones are easier to follow...)

Thanks, am off work tomorrow. Will have a look then. I'm fed up of leaning through to the back to lock and unlock doors.
