Retro fit factory alarm

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

ive had alook round on the www.
looks like the siren part is needed its not just a siren other bits in there too,

The Switch for the ultra-sonics shouid light up with the ign on if the ultra-sonics arnt connected or if theres afault on that circuit,
thats all ican find,

seems to be an alarm system people remove rather than Add,

I've just ordered a siren, so all I'm missing now is the ultrasonics, I would have thought pp2000 would at least connect to the alarm module without the siren, there can't be that much going on inside the siren, there's only 3 pins on it (+/- and signal from the alarm module I would have thought), if I could get either a pinout or wiring diagram I could check to see if power is getting to the module.

Not sure how the siren works tbh,
but as far as ican see it has aboard inside, and a Re-chargeble battery,

ive had a nosey on My 306. found the connector for the ultra-sonics, ipresume that has a black box too :?
the Module is there already by the looks of it, (carnt find a connector for the siren )

iwill have anosey at some pugs at the scrapyards and see how theyre wired up

Still don't have the siren, but I've got wiring diagrams! Now I just need to probe the connector to see if I'm getting power where I should be, but the siren doesn't seem to supply power to the alarm module, which is what pp2000 tries to connect to, the siren only has +/- and a signal to/from the alarm module, so I should be able to connect to the module and read fault codes etc.

The switch doesn't have anything to do with powering the module either, it just gives the module an earth when it's pressed and takes a +ve from the module to turn the led on.

I'm hoping it's just a power issue rather than a dead module!

I checked the connector and it's getting power where it should be, and I found if I plug the alarm module in then hold the button down for a few seconds the light will come on, doing the same again will turn it off, it doesn't seem to make any difference to anything other than turning a light on though, pp2000 still won't connect or anything. After I locked the car, left it for 10 mins then went back the light wouldn't come on again, until I unplugged the module and plugged it back in again, I don't know if it was locking the car or leaving it that stopped it working.

I'll get the siren plugged in at some point and have another go at it.
