Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

any ideas what the coolant message is about?
was there some problem on the multiplexed 406's with the cooling fan that can lead to a fire?

There was. They were recalled. If yours has been recalled then you have a grey solenoid clipped onto the battery box. It's part of the replaced fan loom.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

I wonder what the message means, is it another pp2000 paranoid fault code.
