Hey all,
Recently had my battery fain on my v6 saloon, so sourced a replacement and fitted it, no problems there.
But went to use car today, and my MFD isn't showing any information, back light illuminates it, but no details like, mpg, cd number, track number etc. is there a fuse for this or am I looking at something a bit deeper like a failed control unit? gone through manual and not alot in it
No other problems, other than central locking fault that's been there a while now.
drove 150 miles today no problems.
I never checked to see if it was working after I swopped battery, I know it was before hand.
cheers
T

Re: Multi function display
Is this the satnav screen? If so it can be ( sometimes ) reset with the remote.

its a 2000/01 plate if that's any help, one of my friends is harping on about BSI unit

Re: Multi function display
Try unplugging the conector on the mfd and then pluging it back in again,
it might have an iffy contact,

Re: Multi function display
Worth a punt, its only 4 torx screws - 2 behind each side cover.
The BSI reset might also do the trick, here is the how to - viewtopic.php?f=10&t=10968
It is very important to wait for around 5 mins from ignition off to battery disconnection, gives all the ECUs time to 'wind down'....

Re: Multi function display
Ignition off, open bonnet, shut doors, wait at least 3 minutes (opening a door will wake the BSI)
