Retrieving Fault codes

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Retrieving Fault codes

Post by Ouaga »

Hello Peugeot owners, I came across a way to read the fault codes with just a simple LED and a switch.
This method is described here:
Fault_Codes_Peugeot.zip
Now my question, the above is written for older models than my 406HDI from 2001 but I do have a grey two pin connector but it's not green and I don't want to wreck anything.
Does anybody know if I can read my fault codes this way somehow on my more modern car?
Unfortunately I find myself in a West African country and I can't find OBD readers here.

Any help highly appreciated

Hi,.

 Don't do Blink test on this car. its too Modern. it will do more harm then good.
Buy a Codereader. you can pick them up cheap

they wont read ABS or Airbags but good for everything else,

link here to have a look, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Fault-Cod ... 4177f131d0

These are good links and thank you very much for this.

I never even thought of buying and shipping from China.

I am eager to get my car going, see:

as it supposed to work as a taxi here in Ouagadougou but I tried everything else so I will give this a go!
