Erratic temperature guage
I have a peugeot 406 estate of 1999.; XU10 engine. the temperature gauge is erratic. It goes from 90 to the red end and back to 90. Does any one have a clue. I have bled the cooling system but I did not see any change

Hi, this could just be the sensor on the expansion tank on the left by the strut-top. My old Hdi90 said ' STOP ' alarm and engine overheating - even first thing on a frosty morning... 
A new sensor for £3.50, fixed it.
