Pretty sure my early D9's (no com2000) just did the 2-tone beeping you get when you open the door with the key in the ignition?steve_earwig wrote:Yep, with the driver's door open you should get a be-bo be-bo be-bo and a "SIDE LIGHTS REMINDER"warning in the display.

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Lights left on Warning!
I think my D8 had a lights on reminder, so I'd be surprised a semi-mux D9 didn't...
I just realised how old this thread is
The switches for the interior lights are actually in the door locks. It could be a problem with one of these switches or perhaps a broken wire in the loom as it passes through the door and into the car.

Re: Lights left on Warning!
Well i finally got to the root of this problem. The central locking started to play up, central locking closing and then immediately opening again. So off with the drivers door card and disconnected the 9 pin plug going to the door lock actuator, then i connected the plug to an old actuator i had from a D8 and then all electrics were working perfect, interior lighting, MFD display showing drivers door open, door opened symbol on dash, buzzer for lights on and buzzer for key in ignition. But alas when i fitted the D8 actuator into the D9 the door wouldn't open which was probably the reason i had changed it previously. Had a look at the D9 one again from closer inspection the 9 pins were slightly corroded. Cleaned them up with a small nail file, replaced and all electrics working perfect including central locking.
Re: Lights left on Warning!
Might be worth checking for any cut wires taped back. I know of quite a few people who have disabled the lights on warning by cutting the relevant wire and taping them back. Maybe a previous owner did this.
