Hello,
I have a 406 LX HDI 2litre 2002 model. Although it has never had a seatbelt warning light or alarm to my knowledge (it isn't referred to in the manual and the light doesn't come on upon ignition) it has recently started to flash intermittently when driving. I have never even noticed it before. It is on the dash to the right of the airbag light and immediately underneath the handbrake light, coloured red. It seems only to flicker momentarily when the car is moving so perhaps linked to a loose wire? My main confusion is that I didn't think the car had a seatbelt warning indicator (it has certainly never warned me when driving without a seatbelt on) so I am surprised to see it flickering now?
It is only mildly irritating at present, but these things are often indications of bigger things.
So I would be most grateful if anyone has any ideas or suggestions!

Re: Seat belt warning light intermittent fault
Hi & welcome to the forum.
You're right, there is a seat belts not fastened warning light, exactly where you describe, but like some others, (e.g. the oil pressure warning light, believe it or not!), it isn't supposed to work.
I guess you can safely ignore it, but short of unplugging and re-connecting the connector onto the clocks, I can't think of any obvious way of tracing it.

Thanks Doggy. Sounds like I can safely ignore it for the time being. As usual with these things, it has largely stopped doing it since posting!
Thanks

Good news. I guess if we could make all inexplicable problems disappear simply by posting a message about them, we'd all be chuffed.
