Transponder help please

Post by Pootz »

I fitted a new battery to my transponder this morning ( it wasn't working when I bought the car) and all seemed well as the fob locked the car as it should

I then went to unlock the car and it didn't work. all I got was the indicators and side repeaters flashing constantly at quite a fast rate and I had to use the key to unlock it in the end

am I doing something wrong or is there a fault somewhere?

it's a 2 button transponder if that makes a difference

It sounds like you are pressing the lock button when the car is already locked.

Is the fob faulty? Is it all clean inside the case - no debris..??

the fob is all clean but buttons are missing so I'm pressing the switches under the buttons ( if that makes sense) at the mo

I've ordered a replacement casing for it but that won't be here until next week

I didn't realise that there was a separate button to lock and unlock the car. I thought it was all done through the largest of the buttons and the small round one was for something else

I'll go and try it in a bit

thanks

Do you have a teardrop shaped key or the later ' fat triangle ' shape?

Mine is the later, so one button locks and the other unlocks, on earlier keys Steve is correct.. 8)
