Power to terminal 4 nearside rear light cluster!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Sorry mate, I just got in. Sedre's not giving much away wrt the socket, which I guess is what's there. However it says the caravan socket supply comes from fuse 15 in the passenger fuse panel (10A). This agrees with the diagrams I have too.

The diagrams on Petrila show terminal 4 linking to terminal 2 on the n/s headlight, then to F21, passenger fusebox. :?

Also, caravan socket, fed from F15, passenger fusebox.

I can't remember which fuse it was but I just put a 16 amp (if I remember right) fuse in the appropriate holder in the fuse box and that was that,i only use it to power the fridge in the caravan when on the move as I don't think the red wire is man enough to charge the caravan battery and run the fridge at the same time.I ran it through a split charge relay so the fridge is only on when the engine is running.

Thanks Guy's :cheesy: ,
To all of you that took the trouble to answer, it works :P
& there was me doubting my wiring skills :supafrisk: a simple fix (we like those) a 20amp fuse pushed in holder 15
So again many thanks to all now we can go on our maiden caravaning trip with a happy wife  & a full fridge (of beer) :supafrisk:
Oh & grasmere I know what you mean about the gauge of the red wire BUT it is trickle feeding the battery so it's a low current, I've just looked & my battery charger has smaller gauge leads  . (yes I too am running a split charging relay)
That's all for know, catch you all when we get back 8) , Thanks again DDD.

I think the cable size stems from the power consumption of the newer caravan fridges vs the older type ones,i don't know if you've ever been on the forum "caravan talk" but there is some good threads on towbar wiring,it recommends if I remember rightly something about doubling up the earth pin on the 12S socket to prevent burning/melting of the connection which happened to mine last year.I was contemplating converting the car and caravan to the newer 13 pin single socket set up as there supposed to less troublesome.
