Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

PP2000 Issue

Post by Encargado »

After finally (I think) managing to get PP2000 to talk to my 2003 (53 Plate) 2.2 HDI, it appaears that it cannot identifiy the ECU. I have tried clearing the fault for the DPF addative (and have added a litre of DPF fliud which shows as 107Grams) but it keeps recurring.
Looking a the PEF maintenance section on the tool, it is asking me for a Gearbox type but refuses to accept anything that I have read as valid (ML5T/ ML5C etc).

Any clues would be appreciated as I think this may be a rogue ECU from another vehicle of a different type, in which case maybe I should look to replace it with a correct item.

Thanks in advance
2003 2.2 HDI (136) Exec Estate - Getting to know it at the moment, but hope it does not bite me :)

The gearbox might be BVA / BVM, (Boite de Vitesses Automatique / Manuelle) - just guessing.

Almost everyone gets rid of the DPF and forget the additive system, it's less grief in the long run and can improve economy.

Have a look at this: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12487
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
