Replacement fan for a 2.2 needed

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Replacement fan for a 2.2 needed

Post by gumby6371 »

Well the auto sparky has confirmed my fan or the integrated controller is naffed so I need to source a replacement.
Any ideas if it's shared across other models or cars to give me a few more places to look?

The fan unit is 1250F8 until RPO 9155, 1253E6 from RPO 9156 onwards. Yours is certainly the latter if it's a 2003 car. Price from Peugeot is £330

Both of these were also fitted to the 2.0 HDi (though not necessarily at the same RPOs).

Thanks Jon for the fast response.
I'll take that as - If I can get one from any 03/04 HDI I should be ok, 02 is a maybe?

On the plus side he checked my AC and it has pressure so it might just be the fan causing that fault as well. Don't want to set myself up for a bigger fall tho so not holding out much hope.

RPO 9155 is 2nd December 2001 (i.e. doesn't quite align the with semi/full mux switchover). So just make sure the donor vehicle was built after that date. If you can't definitely determine the RPO, I'd avoid '51 plate and earlier, '02 is likely to be OK, '52 onwards would be very safe I reckon :)
