Brief introduction / De-Fap request...

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

OK having checked pp2000 it is showing permanent fault; additive pump also permanent fault; diesel cap signal. I flashed a de-fap file and also fitted an egr blank plate and took it for a drive. Can't seem to get it into limp mode although AP fault still showing. Seems to pull well to around 3000rpm then just seems to hit a wall and revs drop a bit, if I keep my foot down it seems to perk up again and go well. I'm hoping this is because of what I found below.

Having got home I decided to get my head around the vacuum system so I was sure what everything did. I found that the turbo vacuuum hose had come off. I also found that the swirl valve hose had been taken off and plugged. I already knew the SV actuator was broken. So I then ripped all the vacuum hoses out and now I have one blanked off at the pump end and the two connections at the servo end feeding the swirl and turbo.
Have yet to replace the turbo hose at the turbo and also still to fit SV actuator because I'm poorly and it's raining

Will then be looking to tidy up the doser and heat exchanger pipework.

The AP fault can meaning literally any engine or additive ecu related fault condition, (though the additive ones should no longer be reported).

The turbo actuator needs vacuum to reduce the boost, so it's highly likley you have, or have had, an over-boost error. When it's working properly, you should see requested and actual boost values of around 1000 - 1050 mbar at idle, with both rising more or less together if you increase the engine speed.

Until you replace the swirl actuator, leaving the flaps in the 'up' position, (corresponding to actuator extended), allows it to use all the inlet valves and should give the best response above 2000 RPM.
