bought the wrong indicator stalk!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Oops! Where did you get it from?

Are you quite sure about that? I thought front fogs were optional but rears were universally obligatory.

Well, I guess so. It's not mux so you could probably move the pin to the relevant place in the connector.

+1 on rears being a legal requirement and fronts optional, I thought the only choice was whether you get 1 or 2 at the back?

As being Canadian, obviously i have no clue what rear fogs are then! I am in the Dominican Republic there is no fog here! Front fogs are just cosmetic

Anybody know the relevant pin in the connector?

Ah, I get it, I'd still expect the lenses to be there, even if they're not wired up. Sadly, being a semi-skimmed the diagrams aren't all that. All I can tell you is you'll have to move it from pin 1B to pin 4B, I know that's not much help but I wouldn't trust a pin-put anyway. The connector is only 9-way so it shouldn't take long to figure out with a meter.

2670+2675 are the fronts, 2630 is the rear.

Mr Google says - Rear fogs have been a legal requirement on all new vehicles since 1986, if only 1 is fitted it must be on the offside or centre of the vehicle.
Assuming the majority of 406's were left hookers and assuming the law applies to the majority of countries it was exported to I suspect they're there but possibly not working.
Personally I'd be tempted to plug the new stalk in and see what happens, maybe pop the off side bulbs out and have a look how many bulbs you have.
My D8 had bulb slots both sides but only the off side wired up, presumably so the same parts fitted all models and only the loom changed.

As my memory is pretty poor I always end up turning the lights on in sequence to work out which bulb is which, I'd detatch that wire first of all and see what's still working.
Not sure what you mean by parking lights but having 3 bulbs lit seems a bit odd if it's just side lights and the one in the bottom of shot is suspiciously bright.

Is your car a left or right hand drive?

Aha found out what rear fogs are
"Rear fog lamp- a red light with the same intensity as a brake light."

Ya, north america do not have them!

That explains my extra bright bulb!

As you can see even the internals are different the wires are soldered onto diff pins
For that reason when i put the headlights on with out the rear fogs rear fogs come on.
Anyone know how i can eliminate the rears and use as front fogs? Not much of electrician but i have a multimeter now

Fixed it by moving the pin outs
Thanks
