Re: Ruinous expense - part 1
I remember having to change my N/S low dip bulb on the Honda Crappord every few months! It was always that side - never did figure out why but I must have changed the lightbulb there about 5 times in 9 months of ownership.

I've been seeing a one-eyed 54-plate Mondeo every morning for at least the last two weeks in the dark....his 'remedy' is to drive with the front fogs on

Stupid, irritating, but all too common. Try this one for size:
I passed one dozy cow every few days for weeks last winter, driving a Uno with no offside dip beam or sidelight. Finally, the remining dip failed and I saw her trying to navigate the A6116 in the dark on the one remaining sidelight, perhaps unsurprisingly with a half-mile tailback behind her.

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: Ruinous expense - part 1
I guy that used to work here had the use of an Ashtray Van and after both dipped beams failed he drove on the Motorways using FULL beam
he thought that was ok rather than bother us for two new bulbs
He then put petrol in it a month later and killed it.
Another lad down-changed into 2nd gear at 70 MPH in the other 'nice' Astra Van and killed that too.
We don't supply Vans any more.
I guess when the clocks go back we're in for more headlamp/beam/outage capers............
