car won't start

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Was the new blade fitted to the original key fob? If so it should just need to be re-syncronised.

Put your key in the ignition and open the drivers door, you should get a 'bong' and a message on the display. If not then the car doesn't recognise the key.
As mixman said, is it the original key case with transponder with the new blade spotted in?
As for the locking, if the car recognises the key, then put the ignition on, press and hold the lock button on the key for 10 seconds, then turn the ignition off. Try the remote locking while you are still in the car to check its worked....

Ive got it working now, didn't have blade aand transponder together in keyfob. took old blade out and put new blade in old key fob, but now Im stuck with one key for starting it and one key for doors. I thought the dealers would have sent me the new barrel set up to work with my old key blade. oh well. atleaset I can get to work now lol :) Thanks

You can still use your old fob ( with new blade ) to unlock the doors, giving you a spare door key to stash somewhere in case you get locked out....

yeah gonna get another copy of that new blade and replace the old blade in the spare key so Ive got 2 keys with 2 new blades then get a old key case and put the old blades in that one so Ive got a back up key to manual unlock doors. cheers for your help. :D
