Disarming the vehicle
Hi everyone i have just bought this 406 90 hdi 2002 and it needs the injector seal doing so the battery needs disconnecting . The Haynes manual says switch the alarm off car before removing the battery but i cannot for the life of me find the button or what ever it is the the manual says . It says its on the centre consol but looking i cannot see any thing Can any one help where you disarm it .

I think that only the executives have the alarm - the sensors are in the pillars by the windscreen, and the rest of the models have deadlocks only..??
The BSI reset procedure thats in the topic above is a good guide - however I just make sure that the car is unlocked with the bonnet popped open and the keys out of the ignition for at least 5 mins before disconnecting the battery. this give all the ECUs and the BSI time to 'wind-down' before its disconnected.
The same for reconnecting - wait 5 mins before opening a door after you have connected the battery.
