Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

cheers for the reply ive just updated it.

Main reason for the rush is i bought the car on the proviso that all it required was a wheel bearing , granted the body works a bit rough but for 200 quid you cant expect miracles.

Then mot is due middle of this month (17th) and its now out of tax too, so i cant really road test the car as i need to invest in tax to long distance test it but almost all knocks and bangs have been removed so just want to see what the last fixes would be to remove the "abs fault" & "braking fault" off the console screen as it could be an mot failure with it dispayed??

I'm not 100% sure, but if the ABS fault comes up before you drive anywhere this points to a sensor, but if you start to drive and then you get the fault message this may point to a reluctor ring..??

It makes sense to me...

Well this thing had two missing abs rings on the front so had to fit them myself, after which the abs sensors seem to get a variable resistance once the wheel was rotated and using a multi meter, however I can't find the entry point into the cabin for the rear abs plugs so I can check them without using pp2000, but that said pp2000 would let me see what the abs ecu thinks is at fault allowing me to stop wasting my time guessing.
