Foglights adjustment

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Foglights adjustment

Post by Pugi4o6 »

I would like to ask for instructions on how to adjust the foglights beams... Any advice?
I know where the lever adjuster is and how to turn it... I just don`t know how to high to adjust the beam...
P.s. Bolt on the upper holder is a pig to remove

I guess it must be, I've never had to fiddle with any of mine, not even to replace a bulb (oh dear...) In fact, not on any car I've ever had, they're usually just "there".

Nothing useful in the repair manual (there never is):
Image
Remove :

The mountings (3)
The fixing (4) (Torx-headed driver : N° 30)
The electrical connection (5)
The long-range lamp

2. Refitting
Proceed in the reverse order to removal.
Verify :

The electrical operation
The adjustment of the lamps
Ah, so there is adjustment, it's not saying how of course

Umm, find a long straight bit of empty road at night and see how they look?

Are they foglamps or driving lamps? If fog lamps, they want angling down slightly to illuminate the road underneath any fog or mist. If they are driving lamps, they should point straight ahead as your main beams. However, there is an element of personal choice as long as they don't dazzle oncoming drivers.

Well of course, but no recommendations where to point it or which way to turn it.
