Hazard lights flash when I open the drivers door.

Hi, I have a problem! Just bought this car and have inherited a few issues.

Firstly, when I unlock with the remote fob, my hazards come on.

If I unlock the doors with the key, then open the drivers door, the hazards come on.

I can switch them off with the hazard light switch when I get in.

This only happens on the drivers door and not any other. I have my suspicions that it could be the connections from the drivers door harness to the plugs in the door post. It looks as though someone has been previously been poking around there as the drivers window will not operate either!

Everything else barring the fold in mirrors work.(Used to work if you unplugged the window switches and the mirror leads still connected.)

Some light on this would be of enormous appreciation as its to cold outside to guess!

you might be best to spend an hour on it and make good all the wiring or check see if
there all insulated properly.

I appreciate what your saying but what in the door would cause the hazards to come on?

Hi there,

Think i've found the culprit.

Also what i found as well was the interior lights were not coming on when i unlocked the doors. However the lights in the doors would.

The cables under the drivers side carpets were damp. I have dried it all out and cleaned the connections on the plugs and sockets, using contact cleaner.

I don't get this issue anymore!
