Courtesy lights

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Courtesy lights

Post by hugh »

OK so I thought the front courtesy light in the 406 didn't work. Turns out it does, but it doesn't switch off when the door is closed. Would this be a faulty sensor or something like that?

Thanks for any and all help, guys.

Don't you also have an issue with door locks? That's probably the same thing, the switch in the door lock tells the BSI when the door is open and puts the light on, it's the same switch (IIRC) that tells the BSI that the door is closed and allows it to lock.

If the rear courtesy light's going off when you close the doors, you could just have the front courtesy light switch in the wrong position.

I see. Thanks, great video. Looks pretty involved. I remember BMW have a similar gizmo that runs all the stuff in the cabin.
