I was able to talk to ecu before, sorry to not updating my old thread.

But it was a bit jerky to let it talk, but in the end with a bit luck i could return pp2000, since i could't do what i really wanted ( programing cruise) but this was because my ecu didn't had remote codification feature, beacause everything else worked, like showing errors, view parameters and values, test things.

It feels great cruise control. But i don't understand completely it's functionality, what's for the arrow pointing to us in the stalk ?

I can't remember the functions exactly on a semi-mux car, (it's over 3 years since I drove one), I think down is decrease speed / set: up is increase speed / set: and back is cancel / resume, but I could be wrong.

As Eric said:
down: decrease speed (kept pressed, or a single movement for about -3mph) / set actual speed (if no speed is memorized or is lower) / go to memorized speed (if it is higher)
up: increase speed (kept pressed, or a single movement for about +3mph) / set actual speed (if no speed is memorized or is lower) / go to memorized speed (if it is higher)
towards you: deactivate cruise control momentarily. Remember it is always better to deactivate the main button too.

It takes a bit of time to learn to use it well. It sometimes likes to act... strangely.

thanks guys, i have looked into the car's manual :D

edit: It's a shame that the actual cruise control speed is not displayed on the MFD, or Even Saying that Cruise was enabled.

It's like that even with the very final COM2000-equipped fully-mux all-singing/all-dancing 406 models. It would be nice to have some kind of indication of what speed the cruise control is set to. Technically it would have been very easy for Peugeot to program the BSI to display that on the MFD (for example, when you press the cruise control increase/decrease buttons, the display could change to show what speed its set to, and then change back a couple of seconds after you've finished pressing the buttons). Just kinda short-sighted I guess.

I mean, the MFD comes up and tells you that the automatic windscreen wiper system has been activated - which isn't a very useful thing for it to tell you. Cruise control speed would've been.

It's funny, mine never told me that the automatic wind screen wipers were activated :?, i guess it's because my BSI is the first ones that came up.

My old v reg never showed anything on the Mfd when the Autowipers where active,
the o2 and o3 one ihad did tho,

so it most probably down to them being Slightly Mod'erner.

I think it's because ours are only part-mux.

Sorry to bump an old topic, but I am trying to sort exactly the same problem.
RayneR, what HW/SW numbers does your 'new' ECU have?
It will help me to find the right one.

Sorry mate for taking so long to be here and also was not aware of the topic itself, but my car at moment it's at the garage for repairing and can't be sure the exact numbers but at least the last 3 digit of hardware revision is 248, will let you know as soon as i figure it out.

best regards

Great, thanks for your answer. Must be 0281 010 248. That one was on my list of ECU's that might be suitable, but now I'm sure.

Now I know what to look out for.

I have managed to get an ECU of version 0281010248 from Ebay, swapped the immo chip from my original ECU to it, flashed sw version 1037359169 onto the 29f400bt chip.

The car will start, but i get a couple of faults when reading the ECU with PP2000:
Image

The programming error is new to me. As a result of this the coolant temperature can't be displayed.

In the configuration menu I get this:
Image
My car doesn't feature ESP. And I don't know where to find the injector category. But even if I did know it wouldn't help me at this point because when I try to change anything I get this:
Image

The engine light stays on, too.

Can anyone give me a hint? What could be the reason the programming error shows up? I uploaded a complete file with correct checksum, the ECU is still accessible (already experienced what it is to brick an ECU in the process   ) and the engine runs.

I have been fiddling today but still haven't managed to get CC working. Just now I discovered that the links in my previous post aren't working. Sorry 'bout that ;)

My car was originally fitted with the 0 281 001 977 unit. No option for cruise control on this ECU, tried various versions of SW.
Now I got an ECU with HW no. 0 281 010 248 like RayneR did. With an Eprom programer I managed to make a dump of the original file from the 95p08 immo chip and flash it to the chip of the '248' ECU.
So now it is coded to my car.
The engine starts and runs perfectly fine, the car drives normal too.
So far the successfull part, here come the problems:
The engine light stays on:
Image
So I started up Peugeot Planet 2000 and read the ECU fault codes and got this:
Image
Under the button Identification I got this:
Image
In the configuration menu I got this:
Image
Image
Strangely I'm not able to change any of these settings. When I try I get this message:
Image

Is the problem in my version of PP2000 or is the problem still in the ECU?
