Sony aftermarket stereo working but no sound

I've put a Sony stereo in my 2002 406 executive. It is working but there's no sound from the speakers. I tried a old goodman's stereo and it worked. The Sony one works in my vectra fine. Can anyone help ?

I would suspect that the speaker connections are different, you probably need an adaptor lead, check on ebay.

Certainly one that age will have. Maybe it doesn't get enabled unless it recognises the head unit's on?

So then presumably it needs a switched live from the head unit. Umm, it'd probably be important to remove it and bridge the speaker wires

2002 is probably full-mux fires up Sedre...

I would suggest to check these with a meter while you have it in bits, rather than assume these pin outs are 100% accurate...

Ya it has a jbl amp in the boot. I will have to have a look tomorrow in daylight

Don't just power it up, it'd probably simultaneously blow all the speakers...

I suspect you might want to add some crossovers in there.

Nah, no multihex wires on the amp.
