10W40 Vs 5W30

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

10W40 Vs 5W30

Post by piglet »

Bought 20l 5W30 for the Connect, my 20l of 10W40 seems to have evaporated (all over sons motocrosser chain I expect)
Is 5W30 a bit pissy for the Hdi? needs to go in a 1.5D 106 as well.
Thoughts gents?

Best ask oilman
I use the recommended total quartz 5w40 fully synthetic, so I would think that 5w30 should be OK
As I understand it the difference between 30 & 40 is the max temp that it's OK with,
Don't think you need to worry in blighty with a low reving diesel :?
But if you're worried or unsure, ask oilman :)

Thanks Diesel, just realised I put this in electrical.
Moved to engine & transmission.
Thanks for your answer, I wonder how much difference it all makes?
