Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Post by hedo406 »

hi
i have 2003 peugeot 406 d9 2.0L saloon automatic and i will rebuild into 3.0L v6 automatic so i need to know the follow from who has the experience and passed through the same issue
1- i will take the v6 system from a scrapped 406 d9 v6 coupe RHD(right hand drive) and mine is LHD(left hand drive) so my question is the wiring loom will fit without any problems?
2- can i keep the rear wiring loom after the console and connect it with the new wiring from the coupe in order to let the electric open windows works?
3- the front and back suspensions of the 406 coupe will fit in my saloon?
4- the interior of the coupe(seats) will fit in my saloon interior?
and please anyone know any problem i will face from this conversion let me know..thanks

Hi and welcome aboard. 8)

Sounds like an ambitious project, from my own (very limited) experience I would say it would not be possible without having the whole coupe, not just the bits you think you need. Even then, it's going to be difficult, but I wish you luck.

There is some coupe expertise on this site, but obviously more over at http://www.406coupeclub.org/PHPBB3/

You may need to exercise a little diplomacy, 'over there'
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
