Re: Another 307 issue BSI has lost VIN code
Car dies a few times, AA man says lift pump error, lift pump fitted, "fuel pressure higher than expected" errors, Doggy spends many hours faffing about only to realise that the car didn't start life with a lift pump and is throwing a major wobbly because it now has one.

Oh right, weird, no wonder I couldn't get my head round that.
One less thing to pack in on our C4 then.

Re: Another 307 issue BSI has lost VIN code
I noticed the pump ran continuously with ignition on / engine stopped, but unfortunately didn't question that until later, thinking that if it runs all the time the engine's on anyway what with overrun fuel cut-off and all it's probably OK.
The relay that switches the fuel pump, also does other stuff as it feeds two fuses, one for said pump and the other? (I didn't bother tracing it). Probably one of the sensor or actuator supplies the engine ecu needs.
Odd that Pug saw fit to put an unnecessary fuse it the box for the non-existent pump tho.

Re: Another 307 issue BSI has lost VIN code
To conclude the saga, a 2nd-hand set of fuel pipes including the priming bulb was obtained from fleabay.
It ran, but as I suspected couldn't draw fuel through the lift pump, which has now been swapped back for a gauge unit without the pump.
All is finally good.

Well done Doggy, imagine a garage trying to sort that out? the 'extra pumpe' would'a made some serious head-scratching and COST!
