2002 diesel diagnostic

Hi all, recently bought a 2002 2.2 hdi coupe, having problems with anti pollution fault and car going into limp mode.. I had the dpf regeneration carried out last week which worked for all of a day, the car has once again showing a anti pollution fault. I am hoping to get the dpf and cat hollowed out and a remap done. In the meantime can anyone recommend a diagnostic reader that works on a 2002 diesel. My elm unit and torque app won't talk to the ecu. Anything other than Peugeot planet available? Thanks

To be honest its a bit hit and miss with some of the generic readers... I use Planet for the fact it has worked on every Peugeout I have worked on, apart from a 2012 308 which I think was too new for my version.

It can be bought for as little as £50, and you will easily recoup the cost by not having to go to Peugeot for diagnostics.

Also, please can you add your location to your profile - maybe someone in your area can help with diagnostics in the meantime.

This can be caused by the pressure regulator on the back of the HP pump, they are quite easy to change so if you can pick one up cheap on ebay it might be worth a try.

Thanks for the reply chaps. The car will go into limp mode, if I stop and switch the engine off and restart It will drive as normal again but the engine management light stays on..after a few days the engine management light will turn itself off lol...only to happen again a few days later.. Im near Exeter area if anyone has Peugeot planet.. Thanks guys

More importantly as the years go on the question is what pc/laptop operating system you want to use.
The cheaper versions appear only to offer Win98/ XP and Win 7..

I suspect a simple vacuum fault is affecting your turbo, which is flagging a fault - it's a bit of a weak spot with the 2.2hdi.

We have a couple of members in Somerset, maybe one of them can help you out..?
