Good evening people.
I'm hoping for a bit of help with my 3.0 V6 406 Coupe 1999 D9 model
I've been surfing the net to see if there are any answers to my question and stumbled upon this site.
I've found threads with the same problem as I have....but no answers.
So here goes....
The car starts, but no matter what you do with the throttle, it just ticks over.
I've had the throttle body off and everything is ok in there
I've had the pedal position sensor off and all is ok in there
The car has been standing for a while and not started, but was perfect before been laid up inside a large garage
Live diagnostics show everything ok and working...all values correct
Continuity of the wires to the ECU have been checked from the sensors back to the ECU and all are fine
If you physically push the flap in the throttle body you can get a bit of revving, and the pedal will raise the revs by 300 revs when pressed after that.
The only thing that is different is it has no brakes. I've renewed the brake lines and not bled the brakes yet
Any Help much appreciated

Re: No throttle response at all
Not familiar with petrol models but the brake problem could indicate a lack of vacuum which on diesels controls also controls other functions. Diesels have a vacuum pump the petrol models likely derive it from manifold depression.

Thanks Peter,
There is no brake problem, they just need bleeding.
I thought I'd mention it just in case there's some kind of wizardry on the car that doesn't let it rev if there's no brakes

FIXED.
One word. MICE.
I found some evidence of mice and found a pink, red and white wire chewed through. soldered back together and good as gold.

Good lord
Glad you got to the bottom of it, I could only find references to this on diesels so I was wondering.
