I need to change my TPS - Throttle Positioning Sensor.
On Amazon there are a few that look identical although there seem to be a few slight variations in numbering.
I have found:
Throttle Position Sensor 15980-67G00 / 1920.9W
Here is the link
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Throttle-Posit ... =8-1-fkmr0
They say it is ok for 406. I think my one is a 1920X1 whereas this is 1920.9W
They look identical but are these slight number differences critical?
Any expert advice much appreciated.
Many thanks

The 1920.9W seems for the petrol models, while the 1920X1 is for diesel.
I would advise sticking to the 1920X1 for your HDI.

Maybe not, looks like both are indeed the same: both OEM numbers are listed at the part shown here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Sensor-Throttl ... 3017021256 .

It's also possible to clean the springs from inside the TPS rather than buy a new one.

Re: 406 2.0 hdi TPS
My HDi 90 used to eat TPSs.
Eventually I had a cycle of two of them: one on the car and one being cleaned out.
The ones that came off felt gritty -- I expect due to their location in the engine bay.
Here's what I found: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19303&p=191878
You can expect parts with different XXXX.YY numbers to be mutually incompatible.
The actual part number is a long number that begins with a 9 and is usually on a sticker on the part. There can be many of these for the same XXXX.YY and I don't know how interchangeable they are.

I've never had to replace mine. I do spray it with electric contact cleaner spray regularly (~ every 2 years).
Cheapest one I could find in a 30 second search: € 13,77 incl. shipping - for 406 2.0 HDi & 2.2 HDi.
