1.9 TD Rev Counter Stuck

Post by av8tor »

About 70% of the time I'm driving, the rev counter needle is not working, stuck at about 1900 RPM. When it does randomly decide to work it seems a bit off. I did a search on the forums, but I couldnt come up with a clear solution. I'm a complete novice as far as mechanics go, so if you know the cause, please be gentle in explanation! Cheers!

take the tdc sensor out of the top of the gearbox, its black and under the thermostat housing and is held in with one 10mm bolt and give it a good clean with brake cleaner and a rag, and fit it back
